Ayuthaya hotel and lodging guides
Prices for accommodation in Ayuthaya are very reasonable, especially when compared with other tourist–orientated places in Thailand. Most places are aimed at the backpacker crowd, although many have realised the importance of the mid–range tourist and have subsequently upgraded.
Most guesthouses are herded along soi Torgorsor, which is conveniently close to the main part of the city on Naresuan road, fairly close to the old city. Higher quality hotels are a little thin on the ground but are however available.

Guesthouses in Ayuthaya
Tony’s Place: probably Ayuthaya’s best guesthouse, with plenty of rooms and a quality restaurant and beer garden out the front. Tony’s is well–placed on soi Torgorsor; 300 baht to 450 baht for air con, tel; 035 252 578.
Ayuthaya Guesthouse: is one of the most popular guesthouses in town; a friendly place with air con and en–suite rooms. The best rooms have TV and air con for 400 baht, while the 300 baht rooms have a fan only. All are en–suite. Internet access and a restaurant are also available. Thong Chai Guesthouse: conveniently located opposite Wat Ratchaburana and a little quieter than most places, Thong Chai is one of the cheaper guesthouses and more Thai–oriented. Rooms have private bathrooms but are fan only. In front of Wat Ratchaburana off Naresuan road; tel: 035 245210; 200 baht
PU Guesthouse: not far from Tony’s Place, PU Guesthouse is just off soi Torgorsor and has been operating in Ayuthaya for a while. Clean and reasonably priced rooms; tel: 035 251213; 300 baht.
Moradok Thai Hostel:
a small but friendly place run by the congenial Gina, this charming house behind a restaurant of the same name, off Rojana road, is away from the city centre and tourist magnet, but central anyhow.
