Boasting 40 rai to free the curious spirit, Jai Thep will certainly be the event of the new year, February 2-4, 2018. Phase 1 tickets are on sale now!
Make your way to the Jai Thep Stage, the heart of Jai Thep, where you’ll catch no-holds-barred live music bands! Everything from funk, soul, traditional Thai folk & rock n roll will be resonating through the speakers! We can’t believe Stylish Nonsense, hailing from Bangkok, will grace our Jai Thep Stage alongside killer acts like, the Srirajah Rockers (Reggae/DUB) and bluesy rock of Yamin. Up-and-coming acts like the Bronx’s beloved hip-hop artist, Kenda Rae and electro cabaret, funky duo Madboy Mink (India) will surely bring on the disco feels! Here, you can expect serious production, crystal clear sound and mind-blowing visuals.
Jai Thep wouldn’t exist without the synergy of its artists and visionaries so, we’ve aptly named one of our beloved stages, the Synergy Stage! Hidden away in the furthest corner of Jai Thep, the Synergy Stage is underground electronic music at its finest! Get down and low to the cutting edge beat smithing of Broken Note (London) or get your party on to the housey treats of We Are Nuts! (Germany). He may have been made-in-Italy, but he’s been rocking the clubs of Bangkok for years, Ikono promises to deliver us an eclectic experience, while power-duo, Puretek (Chiang Mai), hail from the underground music scene of Chiang Mai, dishing out unparalleled performances of tech house, deep house, and techno. This year the Synergy Stage will re-incarnate as a giant scorpion, surrounded by forest that will be blasting out bass frequencies in a full-on UV-environment!
At the forefront of cutting-edge musical styles, the Karma Stage is where you come to push the boundaries of “normal”. Jai Thep is proud to welcome Alex Cruz (Netherlands), whose magnetic energy will get us working up a sweat to his deep house waxy tracks! Oslo’s secret weapon, Crussen, is sure to make us thump to funk while DJ Sangkasi (Chiang Mai) gives us a glance at his amazing Molam/Luk Tung Vinyl Collection. Also, we’re excited to announce Bristol’s own songbird, Rosie G., whose voice will surely paint vivid scenes in your mind. And we certainly can’t forget Nayla’s electronic hip hop, coming to us from the UK. This stage is sure to push you to the limit!
New to Jai Thep Festival, the Chill Out Stage offers a peaceful environment set by the river. Get your deep techno house beats at hands of Rezo (Germany), or prepare yourself for Jerome Doudet’s tantric bass solo project, Yantra Mandir, to transport you to outer-worldly dimensions. And when you’ve had enough, curl up for a dose of ambient soundscapes of Linh Ha (Hanoi).
Though it sits humbly in the corner, the Home Stage stands out as the only stage to exclusively offer theatrical and spoken word performances. Come here to listen to captivating tales told by storytellers, stylized verses from the hearts of poets, and interactive games. Catch a TED Talk-style event, Seeds of Interest (SOI) or Ryan Milbourne’s Bitcoin: An introduction to crypto anarchy, or a firey performance by the Flowmads, among other activities! Like nowhere else, Home is where the heart is.
For those seeking more, visit one of the educational workshops or movement classes! Families should be sure to check out the Kids Zone, where kids can enjoy a tailored environment just for them, complete with workshops and activities to feed their curious minds!
