APRIL 07: Lamb of God Live
Where: Mahisorn Hall, SCB Park, Ratchadapisek Road, Jatujak
When: doors open 20:00

Fans of Groove Metal will want to head to Jatujak to shake their stuff to one of the USA’s liveliest bands. Featuring vocals from Richmond Virginia, Lamb of God have released six albums to date and this gig is a rare opportunity for fans to get up close to the band.

APRIL 09-13: Chiang Mai Arts and Cultural Festival
Where: Tom Payom Market near Chiang Mai University
When: all day

Held in various part of Chiang Mai, this vibrant festival celebrates the unique and vibrant culture of northern Thailand. some of the highlights of this unique festival include Lanna style singing, dancing and musical performances, while the local market will be selling handmade crafts and plenty of northern Thai food.

APRIL 10-19: Phra Nakhorn Khiri Muang Phet Fair
Where: Khao Wang and various parts of Phetchaburi city
When: all day

Held on a hill in the heart of Phetchaburi city, this vibrant fair features a ceremony to worship the city pillar. In addition to traditional ceremonies, visitors can take part in events such as ox chariot racing, sample local food and sweets and watch firework displays after dark.

APRIL 10-11: Chiang Mai Beach Festival
Where: Huay Tung Tao Beach, near the 700 years stadium
When: starts 16:00

All are invited to join the fun and take part in the workshops, games and exhibitions that will be the focal point of this lively festival. Nightly concerts and performances will start at 19:00 and tickets cost 300 Baht at the door, while VIP tickets are available for 600 Baht and deluxe tickets cost 900 Baht, including a deluxe room and a bottle of alcohol to get the party started.

APRIL 10-15: Phra Padaeng Songkran Festival
Where: Phra Padeang

This vibrant New Year celebration takes place in the small city of Phra Padaeng, which is around an hour’s drive to the north of Bangkok. This is a good opportunity of visitors to celebrate with local people and the event highlights take place on Sunday and include the Miss Songkran festival parade.

APRIL 12-15: Sand Pagoda Competition
Where: Si Chang beach

Taking place on the island of Si Chang, 25kms to the south of Pattaya, this spectacular competition sees teams of people gathering on the beach to create their dream castles. Other features of the event include a beauty pageant and sports contests.

APRIL 13: Hat Yai Midnight Songkran Festival
Where: Hat Yai beach, Koh Phangan
When: starts at 21:00

Head to Hat Yai beach after the sun sets for a wild night of welcoming the Thai New Year. In addition to the usual Songkran fun, the Hat Yai celebrations will include a fire show and dancing on the beach until dawn.
