RED shirt leaders intend to march through the streets of Bangkok again on Saturday with yet more disruption on the cards for tourists in the city.
The apparent success of the weekend actions which saw a huge 20km caravan of vehicles around the Thai capital has convinced the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to continue this strategy.
According to Police, 65,000 red shirts were involved in the motorcade with 7,000 pickups and lorries plus 10,000 motorcycles taking part, but true figures may be considerably higher.
Many working-class Bangkok residents turned up to cheer on demonstrators, apparently showing that the Thaksin-supporting activists have their fans in the big smoke.
The red shirts are insisting that the government dissolve parliament and call fresh elections, allowing the fugitive former PM to return to power.
After marching on the capital a fortnight ago red shirts have tried to make their presence felt, even throwing 300 litres of blood at Government House in order to intimidate the incumbent premiere, Abhisit Vejjajvia.
However, Abhisit insists his administration is legitimate and has refused to acquiesce to UDD demands.
