Traffic chaos planned for Bangkok

TOURISTS in Bangkok should expect transport chaos tomorrow as red shirt protestors intend to disrupt the BTS metro system and form an 80kms caravan of vehicles through the city.

It is believed activists will focus on the Rama I and Pratunam intersection, by Siam Paragon and Siam Centre malls, where gridlock is already a common problem.

United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) leaders want to shake the “Bangkok middle classes” out of their apathy and force the government to call an election.

Red shirt vehicles will spread out in the streets of the capital and will be joined by more protestors from surrounding areas.

Then they would meet at a rally point at Phan Fa Lilas Bridge and then travel together throughout Bangkok.
