September 12: Full Moon Party
Where: Haad Rin beach, Koh Pha Ngan
When: starts after dark
Thailand’s famous full moon party kicks off after dark on the beach of Haad Rin on the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. Prepare to party hard as live music is hosted by a number of different beachside bars and DJs travel from all over the world to spin the latest tunes to party people.

September 14-18: Gems & Jewellery Fair
Where: Impact Arena, 99 Popular Road, Banmai Subdistrict.

See dazzling adornments at the Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair in Bangkok's Impact Exhibition and Convention Center. Open to trade professionals and the general public, exhibitors and couture designers show off their latest collections and present sparkling fashion shows.

September 16: Pub Quiz

September 16-17: International Swan Boat Races
Where: Bangsai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Centre, Chao Phraya River
When: all day
More than 20 international teams glide down Bangkok's Chao Phraya River during the International Swan Boat Races. The elaborately designed, narrow boats are a spectacular sight along the river with their bows shaped into mythical swan heads.

September 18 - 25: Samui Jazz Festival
Where: all over Samui
When: all day
The Samui Jazz Festival has its origin in the successful Samui Jazz Series but has now become a week-long annual jazz event. Music lovers and Jazz performers from all over the world come to the Thai Gulf island to perform and it promises to be an awesome addition to Samui’s social scene.

September 24: Fancy Jungle Night
Where: Good View Restaurant, 13 Charoen Road, Chiang Mai

Sept 27 - Oct 05: Phuket Vegetarian Festival
Where: Chinese Temples all over Phuket
When: all day
This festival celebrates the Chinese community's belief that a strict diet of vegetable helps to purify body and mind. However, these days the festival is more famous or the bizarre acts of self-mutilation of devotees pierce their tongues, cheeks and other bodyparts with sharp implements.
