December 02: Trooping of the Colours
Where: Royal Plaza, Bangkok

Bangkok's Trooping of the Colours is the Royal Guards' ceremonial parade in honour of the King's birthday. Twelve contingents march at the Royal Plaza, bearing the King's photograph.

December 03-10: King’s Cup Regatta
Where: Kata Beach, Phuket

The annual Phuket King’s Cup Regatta is the foremost sailing competition on the Andaman Coast which attracts scores of yachting enthusiasts from all around the globe to compete in various classes with a carnival atmosphere.

December 05: King’s Birthday

Thai people hold His Majesty The King in the highest possible regard and his birthday also serves as Father’s Day for the nation. Expect parades, temple offerings and huge portraits of the Royal Family to festoon the capital.

December 10: Full Moon Party
Where: Haad Rin beach, Koh Pha Ngan
When: starts after dark
Thailand’s famous full moon party kicks off after dark on the beach of Haad Rin on the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. Prepare to party hard as live music is hosted by a number of different beachside bars and DJs travel from all over the world to spin the latest tunes to party people.
